The family friendly East Midlands Airport has a hold range of facilities for children. So if you are flying with babies or children and want to know about the children's facilities at East Midlands Airport, read this useful guide.

Children's Facilities At East Midlands Airport ...

The children's facilities at East Midlands Airport mean that the whole family can enjoy the pre-flight time. Whether it's enjoying something to eat in one of the airport's restaurants, or wanting to let the kids let off steam by playing, it's all at East Midlands Airport.

Restaurants ...

With many child-friendly restaurants at the airport the whole family can enjoy a meal out.

A wide selection of children's meals are available at the Trent Café, along with high chairs, a bottle warming service - even complimentary colouring pads and crayons.

The airport also has a range of child friendly areas in some of its bars.

Play Areas ...

There is a video games area for the older children in the Terminal. And children of all ages will enjoy the indoor aircraft viewing balcony available in the Trent Cafe.

Essential Items ...

Whilst care should be taken to pack everything in your hand luggage that your baby or child will need during the flight, last minutes essentials are readily available in the shops at the airport including nappies and formula milk.

There is also a good choice of books, comics and magazines available to buy in the airport's newsagent outlet.

Opening Hours Approx. 05.00 – 20.00

Car Parking ...

By far the most family friendly car parking option available at East Midlands Airport is the Valet meet and greet service.

This means, instead of finding a remote car park, queuing for a transfer bus, especially at night or in the cold wind and rain, you families drive right up to the airport terminal where they are met by the meet and greet rep. You unload your family and luggage and your car is taken to a secure car park until your return, when it is brought back.

Book your valet meet and greet airport parking at www.HelpMeTravel.co.uk - this site secures you the best rates possible. It also provides additional unofficial information on car parking at the airport.

General Airline Tips When Flying With Children ...

Use these helpful tips when planning your flight:

Ask the hostess to bring your meal back later if you're feeding your child

Always change your baby's nappy before you get on the flight in case the seat belt signs are on for a while

Avoid our child suffering from painful ears during take off and landing by offering them a bottle of milk or water so the constant sucking can help relieve pressure

If flying with twins by yourself, check with your airline, as normally it's only one infant allowed under 6 months per adult passenger

Do note that there's no luggage allowance for children
