Help Points

When booking your flight do advise your airline of any disability you suffer from. It is also advised to check that all help and assistance required at the airport is included in the price of your ticket.

If for example you have difficulty walking it might be worth pre-booking a special assistance vehicle that will take you from check-in to the boarding gate. Or perhaps you require a wheelchair for your time spent at the airport.

Normally a passenger's own wheelchair will be swapped for one of the airline's at check-in. If however you want to stay in your own wheelchair until you board the plane contact the airline at time of booking.

Disabled travellers at East Midlands Airport will find lowered telephone units in the Departures Lounge West (opposite gate 9). All the phones have a volume adjusting facility.

The airport provides a first aid room that's available by travellers who require privacy for medically related treatments. For access speak to the Information Desk.

Hearing and guide dogs are the only dogs permitted in the airport terminal building.

For any additional questions regarding any special assistance required by disabled travellers at East Midlands Airport call the airport's switchboard on the number below:

Disabled Parking Services ...

Car Valet Meet & Greet

Please note that the blue and orange disabled badges do not operate at Nottingham East Midlands Airport. So, regardless of any disability, if park illegally the car will be issued with a fine.

There are 51 disabled parking bays in the short stay car park.

For further unofficial information on the airport's disabled parking spaces contact the following East Midlands Airport department:

Should you have a blue or orange badge make sure it is clearly visible.

A NEMA permit needs to be obtained from Short Stay car park's main office should you be needing to take your disabled parking badge with you.

There are 8 help points in the short stay parking that connected directly to the Information Desk staff.  Here staff can arrange for you to be given help with your baggage and entry into the airport.

There is a disabled access coach service available that transfers passengers from both the medium and long stay car parks to the terminal building free of charge.

Valet meet and greet parking is hugely convenient for disabled travellers at East Midlands Airport. Travellers simply arrive at the terminal building and proceed to check-in. The meet and greet rep drives the car to a secure car park until your return, when it is brought back to the terminal.

This Valet meet and greet car parking service means there is on worry about parking in the available disabled bays and getting from the car park to the airport.

Passengers can expect to pay around £83 for one week and £118 for two weeks. For the very best deal on valet meet and greet parking book online by visiting www.HelpMeTravel.co.uk.
